A snapshot of where I've been and what I've done.

I've had quite a bit of experience working with several different types of clients, customers, and project types.  My portfolio represents some, but not all, of the projects I've been involved in.

Most of the projects in this portfolio use the structures provided by the Content Management System I developed while at a marketing agency.  I was the lead (and, typically, sole) developer on all of the projects listed below, except where noted.

Skills Used: AJAX, CSS, JavaScript, MySQL, PHP, xHTML

My Role:

Premier Properties Ltd.'s website involved some complex API integration with MetroMLS.

Please see my Case Study for an in-depth look at some of the challenges I met and the solutions I developed.

Underwood Events

Skills Used: AJAX, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, MySQL, PHP, xHTML

Areas Developed:

My Role:

Featuring a swanky modern design and amazing photos, the Underwood Events website was all about the details.

As the sole developer on this project, the CSS presented some challenges because of the layering effect in the background.  After some moments of contemplation, I was able to find repeating patterns in the background, which greatly reduced the canvas sizes required.

As a PHP developer, I faced the challenge of providing some unique image sizes. The designer wanted a very specific size that wasn't available from the uploaded graphics that were inserted.

To accomodate this request, I used PHP's built-in GD functions to resize the images on demand.  I served the image using PHP's header functions so the browser sees the file as a JPEG file.

Oconomowoc Area Chamber of Commerce

http://www.oconomowoc.org

Skills Used: AJAX, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, MySQL, PHP, xHTML

Areas Developed:

My Role:

I acted as the PHP developer on this project, and developed all of the systems using O-O PHP.

One of the most fun challenges on this site, however, was the slideshow on the front page.

Because of the unique overlayed design of the text on the right side of the image, I had to synchronize two separate slideshows.
